Reliance Individual Mediclaim Insurance Policy covers you and your family for hospitalization and other related expenses. This mediclaim covers your all family members aged between 5 years and 80 years. Under this policy, the cover is also provided for children between the age of 3 months to 5 years, if one of the parents is covered concurrently. For individual up to the age of 45 years, no medical check-up is required.
The policy covers hospitalization expenses of the insured person for more than 24 hours of admitted in hospital. The expenses includes room charges, boarding expenses, operation theatre charges, nursing expenses, surgeon fees, anesthetists fees, consultant fees, medical practitioner, anesthesia, cost of medicines and drugs, blood, oxygen, surgical appliances, diagnostic materials, x-ray, dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, pacemaker, artificial limbs, cost of organs, etc. Pre and post hospitalization expenses are covered for medical treatment up to 30 days before and up to 60 days after hospitalization.
The cover is also provided for day care treatment which doesn’t require more than 24 hours of stay in a hospital due to technologically advance treatment. Domiciliary hospitalization provides cover for treatment administrated at home, subject to specified condition. It also offers free medical check up after 4 claim free renewals.
Reliance Individual Mediclaim Insurance Policy also offers value added benefits at a nominal extra cost which gives you additional cover. But, this policy doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions, dental treatment, cost of spectacles. contact lenses, hearing aids, pregnancy, naturopathy treatment, etc.
Under this policy, no claim bonus is provided at 5% for every claim free renewal, subject to a maximum of 50%. The premium paid is eligible for tax benefit under section 80D of the Income Tax Act,1961.
